Quote

Foreseeing a massive national crisis and advocating for a hundred thousand troops, I merely guide the king and people correctly through the teachings of Seonghakjibyo.

Greeting

Nothing surpasses reading for the pursuit of principle.
Raise a hundred thousand soldiers now, or regret will surely follow.
Gi moves and Li rides it — the two cannot be divided.

Roll Call

I have settled my mind as taught in the Gyeongmong yogyeol. I am prepared.
I stand with the will of reform in my heart.
I will not yield to worldly temptation.

Deploy

Illuminate the good and advance!
Shatter ignorance and press forward!
Unite Gi and Li, and charge!

Victory

Only those who prepared in advance stand here now.
In illuminating the Way, reasoning is paramount.
The reform has at last borne fruit.

Draw

Factional strife splits the court and prevents a decision.
One must preserve the mind and resist worldly temptation.
Unless the ills are corrected, the same result will repeat.

Defeat

I urged raising soldiers in time, yet they would not listen. Hence this.
Leaning to one side was the cause of defeat.
I shall engrave the lessons of Gyeongmong anew and rise.

Strike

Push through with the force of Gi!
Cut the decay with the blade of reform!
The wisdom of ten thousand books is in this single strike!
