Quote

Non-possession is not about having nothing, but about not having what is unnecessary.

Greeting

Non-possession — only when we have nothing do we truly have the whole world.
To live purely and fragrantly — that is practice.
Do not fear time alone. Your true self lives there.

Deploy

Strike down the chains of greed with the sound of a Zen stick! We must awaken the soul!
Bring down the walls of attachment! Show the power of an empty mind!
Embrace the venom with a wave of compassion! Anger cannot bring salvation!

Victory

The murky water has settled and become a clear mirror. What a light feeling.
The clamoring dust has been washed away — fragrant as a morning in a mountain temple.
A victory gained by releasing attachment is more precious than any treasure.

Draw

Each other's desires are entangled, unable to advance or retreat — what a foolish quarrel.
Does losing one's temper open the path? Set it down for a moment and take some ease.
Like mist that slips away the harder you grasp it. There is nothing to do but empty the mind and wait for the right time.

Defeat

Blinded by illusion, I have left only hollow wounds... My heart aches.
The fate of those trapped in ignorance who could not see the truth. I must offer a prayer of repentance.
Even in loss, it was never truly mine to begin with. The path of returning empty-handed is sad, but not only sad.

Strike

Release your greed!
Receive the Zen stick!
Clear and fragrant!
