Quote

I might miss meat on the table, but I simply cannot live even a single day without green bamboo in the garden, you see.

Greeting

The clear breeze on the river and the bright moon between the mountains — that is enough.
The waters of the great river wash away the gallant figures of a thousand ages.
A cup of wine and a verse of poetry — where could you find a better companion?

Roll Call

Even in exile, I never set down the brush. I am ready.
When the moon rises, I launch the boat. The time has come.
The river flows endlessly. I shall join you.

Deploy

Set sail! The wind of Red Cliff is with us!
Sweep across the land with noble spirit!
Ride the east-slope wind and advance!

Victory

The spirit of rivers and mountains aided us.
The clear breeze carries victory.
Tonight we must raise a cup at Red Cliff.

Draw

Water flows on, but the moon waxes and wanes in endless cycles.
Seen from the changing view, even heaven and earth last but a moment; seen from the unchanging view, all things are infinite.
Like tilling the eastern slope — simply work the earth again.

Defeat

Life, after all, is but a dream.
I must pour a cup into the river to console the moon.
I survived exile. I can endure this.

Strike

One noble stroke to break them!
Surge forward like the waves of the great river!
A single brush is keener than ten thousand blades!
