Modernizer of Russia Peter the Great

CommanderRU1672 — 1725

The 4th Tsar of the Russian Romanov dynasty. His Westernizing reforms elevated Russia to a European great power. He defeated Sweden in the Great Northern War and built Saint Petersburg.

Holding a saw to build St. Petersburg on Neva River swamps, I shall by all means rebuild bearded old Russia into Europe's great empire!

Holding a saw to build St. Petersburg on Neva River swamps, I shall by all means rebuild bearded old Russia into Europe's great empire!

Greeting

I will drag Russia into the modern age, whether it likes it or not.
Cut your beard. The old era is over.
I shall open a window to the sea. That window is Saint Petersburg.

Roll Call

Russian soldiers — I have seen Europe. Now we defeat them.
We were beaten by the Swedes — and that taught us. Now it is time to repay.
The fleet is built. We sail.

Deploy

Position the cannons at Poltava!
Advance with the modern army — discard the old tactics!
March toward the Baltic Sea!

Victory

The age of Sweden is over. The age of Russia begins.
We learned and we won. This is Russia's strength.
Thank the teacher — Sweden was our teacher.

Draw

Still not enough. Learn more and come back.
Absorb European technology and return.
The next battle will end it decisively.

Defeat

Get beaten and learn. That is the Russian way.
Hit once more and rise once more.
Take this defeat as a lesson and overhaul the military system.

Strike

Fire the cannons — push with firepower!
Bayonet charge!
Shatter the enemy's line!

Overview

A reform-monarch character structure combining overwhelming diligence and intellect with extreme progressive disposition to forcibly transform the state. The learning will to personally acquire skills is embodied in high diligence scores; low temperance and benevolence scores create the dual outcome of coercive reform and people exhaustion.
